Flattener in EcoPoly

Posted: Tuesday, June 3, 2014 5:29 AM Quote
I would prefer to finish my Tiger Moth with silver paint similar to the old butyrate dope finish and NOT the wet look
I have tried the flattener mixed into the silver EkoPoly as recommended and can certainly reproduce the correct finish.
However, the added flattener seems to settle quickly in the spray gun and I suspect I might regret using it.
Does anyone have some experience and advice please?

thorough mixing of the flattener into the EkoPoly and using the reduced volume of water to thin out the paint will give you a mixture that should not settle out in the gun.  If you have a finger strainer between the cup on the gun and the gun body be sure to remove it.

Thanks Jason,
I am quite nervous about adding flattener or anything else into the EcoPoly paint as supplied. Is there any chance that it could course problems down the track?
Is adding flattener an experiment or is it widely used with a track record.

It's proven and works and you there are no known issues down the road regarding performance.
