Sanding light weight fabric

I am priming a Pietenpol with EkoFill and I have a question about sanding after the brush coats. The airframe was covered with 1.8 oz light weight fabric. This fabric is so thin I was wondering if anyone has had problems sanding with the 320 grit paper.

Too many builders have messed up fabric sanding after the brushed coats that we now recommend you do not sand till after the first sprayed cross coat.  The brush coat is supposed to only seal the weave and shouldn't leave hardly any EkoFill on the surface of the fabric.  If you sand after the first brushed coat it is very easy to cut the fibers of the fabric. You can lightly wipe with sandpaper or scotch-brite but I highly recommend you do not sand till there has been a sprayed cross coat of EkoFill

This is true for all weights of fabric.
